Personally, I’m in favor of democracy, which means that the central institutions of society have to be under popular control. Now, under capitalism, we can’t have democracy by definition. Capitalism is a system in which the central institutions of society are in principle under autocratic control.

A video of Noam Chomsky’s address April 8, 2010, in Madison, Wisconsin.  He talks about the dark clouds of fascism gathering in the U.S. and catering the Democrats and Republicans doing for the corporate powers in America.  Chomsky’s analysis of American history and government policy should be listened to by students, who can begin to question why the corporate media keeps Chomsky’s views completely out of their coverage.
